Science Blooms in the Garden                         Ages 7 & up                          Jean Moshofsky Butler

Let’s get our hands dirty looking for bugs, planting, and mulching. Jean will take the students on flower hunts and bird watching walks. We will use microscopes for plant dissection, wheel barrows for hauling and hoses for lots of watering. Smell that fresh air!

Become an architect and engineer as you design and create small models and big structures. This hands–on class will have you building domes, bridges, skyscrapers and creative contraptions!

Let’s Get Cooking for Juniors                         Ages 5 & up                          Marlene Bazdarich

We will be whipping up some delicious treats for your tasting delights. Children will prepare a breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. We will shake, bake, scramble and roll! Come join us for some cooking fun. This is a great class to start the joy of cooking.

Come and work with Sharon, our “pieologist”. We will make sweet and savory pies. We will mix, taste and test in our kitchen laboratory while compiling a great notebook of recipes. Children will be preparing plenty of goodies to go home (if they last that long). This one fills up fast.

Mixed Media Studio for Juniors               

Ages 7 & up                          Sharon Collins

Is it art or science? It is hard to do one without the other? Join Sharon Collins, Mentor Artist, in the studio to glue, glitter, sand, sculpt, paint, print, collect, collage, wire and wonder for an in depth view of how artists really work to experiment and create. Students will be using actual artists’ tools, hiking to locations and building a portfolio.

Our staff will provide a variety of camp arts and crafts while we cook and sing! This camp is for the younger camper. We also encourage new “kinders” to camp as a way to acclimate children and parents to the Lakeshore School Community. We will be working in small groups with plenty of care.
